Infertility is a medical condition, and experiencing it can be an overwhelming, lonely and all-consuming process.People experience a whole range of emotions including sadness, grief, anger, depression and anxiety, at the same time as trying to manage getting on with day to day life, in terms of work, relationships and friendships. My Experience
- I have personal experience of what some call the journey of Infertility, and gone through various fertility treatments. Since then I have felt drawn to support others experiencing distress.
- I have volunteered with Fertility Network UK, as a Support Group Leader, setting up the first Sussex Fertility Network UK Support Group, offering a safe and supportive space for Individuals and couples to talk about their experience of Infertility and Treatment with others.
- I am an affiliated Counsellor of the Agora Clinic in Brighton, providing both Support and Donor Implications Counselling to Clients. I counsel clients on the implications of creating their family using donor material, and for donors.
- I am a member of BICA (British Infertility Counselling Association), having undergone training with them. I offer a compassionate and understanding Counselling approach to both individuals and couples.
- I am inclusive to a wide range of family types, understanding specific areas that affect same-sex couples, Trans considerations, and solo parenthood. I am LGBTQ+ Affirmative in my approach.
